Parallel
Atlas

Fictional scenes from real places.

Parallel Atlas is a fictional music archive mapping lost scenes that never existed — but almost could have.

From cassette post-punk in Quetta to lo-fi hip hop in Sakhalin, ska under the midnight sun in Svalbard and surf rock on the Liberian coast, each artist belongs to an imaginary geography of sound.

The premise

The stories are invented.
The places are real.

Parallel Atlas imagines artists, bands and scenes from real places rarely placed at the centre of global pop culture. Each entry is built like a record-label dossier: a sleeve, a story, a tracklist, a coordinate.

Some tapes are partial. Some pressings are local. All of them are made up — and yet every harbour, mining settlement and dust road on the map is somewhere you could actually go.
